Hi

Which model of Pioneer camera do you have?

If it records to hard drive or memory card you should see the camera in Windows Explorer as another drive.  In this case navigate to the folders containing the video and copy straight to your computer - with memory cards you can also use a card reader instead of having to swap cards in the camera.

If the camera is a DV model, ie tape, then it needs connecting via Firewire if it has this capability, or you need to use the software supplied supplied with the camera to copy the video to the computer via USB.

It is the PV-GS31. There is no fire wire involved, only usb connection. It is on actual video tape not card.

Hi

You have to use the supplied software and drivers that came with the camera to import via USB to your computer - see the camera manual pg 44.

MEP 17 will not recognise the camera via USB, only by the DV / Firewire / IEE1394 connection which will also allow control of the camera.  For this you would need a DV / Firewire / IEE1394 card in your computer if it does not have one,
