Magix changes a vocal recording. If I copy and paste an object, Magix changes it. How is that possible?

Eleyan wrote on 11/20/2014, 5:10 AM

I'm again at a loss.  Damn Magix Love it and hate it.  It's the best and the absolute worst software I have ever used.  When I record a vocal object, once it is recorded that should be it.  So when I do nothing other than click on the recorded object and copy, then paste at the end of the first object, I should get exactly the same sound repeated twice.  But I don't   Why don't I?  It shouldn't be possible for the software to change my recording ie, completely remove the last half of the 2nd bar.  It just shouldn't happen.  I always get excuses why it must be my computer, and never never ;ever, get proper help or answers.  It is a vocal recording, not midi.

So please, if anyone can tell me why this would be happening because it has happened to you in practice, I'd like to know how you solved it.  It is a completely reproducible error.   Its so unfair that I end up in tears of frustration anytime I want to get a decent amount done.

Hi Eleyan

. . . . I'm again at a loss . . . .

Me too - I cannot replicate this problem.

Does this happen for any audio recording on any track and is it reproducible?

Check that your MMM is up todate andhas the latest patch applied to it?

I am using MMM2014 downloadable for Win XP 32 bit.

When I copy and then insert a section of recorded vocal, the software takes that section of vocal, copies it like I wanted but then chops the copy in half, deleting the 2nd half, but adding the first half in it's place.

So, I get   2 x   the first half of the original copied vocal.

**  I click on a vocal section to highlight it, then copy, then click onto the track further on, then R click and insert.

I will attempt to find any upgrade patches today, now that I have caught up with your message.  Thanks John.

Hi Eleyan,

I was struggling with the same problem myself for a while and it's really frustrating but I figured it out. Select your copied object, go to Edit - Object - Loop Range then click on Deactivate User Defined Loop. Your copied object will be corrected.

Actually this happens not only when you copy the object but also when you edit the object in any way (such as split, cut, etc.). Somehow this User Defined Loop is activated in the beginning.

I also tried to do the same thing but BEFORE copying the object. So, if you select the object to be copied and go to Edit - Object - Loop Range and click Deactivate User Defined Loop, AND THEN copy the object, the copy will also be intact.

This helped me, hope it works for you too.

@Ilker-Duztepeliler

Did you notice you had posted to a thread which is nearly five years old? Please do not resurrect such old topics, even when the advice you offer may be correct, because there have been several versions of MM since the one to which the OP refers was released.

This thread will now be closed.
