Magix Audio Studio beat track not coming through headphones.

Hello. I am still using Magix Audio Studio 2005 and love a few of it's features that new versions do not have. Anyway, please dont ask me to upgrade. There's really no reason this program shouldn't work now on Windows 10. It does still work beautifully except for what may be a user error...
I just bought a new Behringer audio interface to record vocals in Magix Audio Studio next to an instrumental track like I have done many times in the past with similar equipment. The audio interface has it's own audio codec which I do have selected in recording and playback in Magix as the default sound driver. My headphones are plugged into the Behringer audio Interface. I can hear my vocals through the headphones as I should but the Instrumental track does not come in through the headphones. It is playing on my laptop speakers (Alienware very nice high end laptop).  Obviously the other tracks should be playing through headphones. What am I not thinking of? Thank you so much in advance...

Hi

. . . . playback in Magix as the default sound driver . . . . My headphones are plugged into the Behringer audio Interface . . . . It is playing on my laptop speakers . . . .

Either the Music Studio playback device should also be the Behringer interface, though this may cause other issues, or you plug the headphones into the laptop..

Yes, as I stated (I'm sorry, if it wasn't clear) my usb interface audio codec is set in Magix as the default Playback and Recording audio. Thanks John.

Plugging the headphones into the laptop doesn't let me hear my vocals though and certainly just seems wrong as far as studio recording goes. All the interfaces have a headphones jack for that reason. I understand what youre saying but that would suck to have to do that.
