I have used Magix Photo Designer since 2005, most recently Photo Designer 7, with various forms of Windows but it has now stopped working. The front page opens but does not progress to opening the program. I have redownloaded the program several times but to no avail. Is there a reason for this?

Depending on the Windows version installed on your computer, it is possible that Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 7, may no longer run. It was originally certified to run on Windows 7, would have run on Windows 8 and early versions of Windows 10. Running 12 year old software on Windows 11 is questionable.
Are you getting any error messages? See this tutorial for how to easily get any crash error messages that have been recorded by Windows.
What is the specification of your computer system including Windows version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.
