Loss of access to external USB CDR drive in Windows 11

John-Rawlins wrote on 6/27/2022, 1:53 PM

When I initially installed Audio Cleaning Lab on my new Windows 11 PC, I was able to read and write to my external USB CDR drive. However, I now am unable to access the drive either to read or write. I have tried multiple attempts to find a solution, including reinstalling the program but without success. I am not aware of having loaded any other software onto the system since I was last able to access the drive so can only assume that a Windows 11 update is the culprit. I have also tried to ri=un it in various compatibility modes, again without success. Please help.....

@John-Rawlins

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Can Windows see the USB drive eg to play a music CD from it?

Did you try plugging the USB drive into a different USB port?

What is the full name of Audio Cleaning Lab and which version number?

@John-Rawlins You could try and install newer burning routines from Magix

The version is Audio Lab MX. When I entered "help">"System Information" the CDR drive (F:) was recognised but was not accessible to read or write CDs. Fortunately installing the new er burning routines has resolved the issue. Many thanks SP.
