@Julia-Rogizna

When you updated to EDIT: patch 29.0.6.34, Music Maker may have started up and you could not log in. Pressing on the log in button does nothing. Is that what you mean? This happened to me on my laptop, but not on my desktop computer.

If so, close Music Maker and restart it. For me, I was now logged in automatically.

Hi John.

I think you meant to write 29.0.6.34???

Interesting problem with this latest update patch. I suspect the majority of users have been able to update without problem - since there are very few, if any, posts here "complaining" - but since you had a problem on your laptop, and the OP clearly has experienced a "glitch", I thought I would add my story!

Attempting the update to .34, on the update service connecting to the update server, almost immediately I received an alert from my AV (Bullguard) that "musicmaker.exe" carried a virus and had been moved to quarantine. I immediately registered this with Bullguard as a false positive, but no way could I restore the file from quarantine and, of course, the app completely froze!

Task Manager was needed to close it and, any attempt to re-open it was unsuccessful because "musicmaker.exe" could not be found!! 😱😱

MM 2021 had always been a little "flaky" for me (repeated Downloads necessary, some instruments not being listed) that I decided drastic surgery was needed. I used Revo Uninstaller to completely remove MM2021 and all its constituents. I had to risk that this would also remove MM 2020, but it did not.

I then proceeded to reinstall MM 2021, reactivated it and then downloaded all the additional content. Now I have a much more stable installation, all instruments showing, nothing on the Downloads tab, altogether "much better".

I wonder why this happened??? (Rhetorical question, of course!)

Hi Jeff,

Quite right. Time to get my glasses fixed.

Yes, this was a strange one.

I was wondering if the latest Windows update could have caused a problem.

I still have bunch of instruments showing under Downloads on my laptop. Looking at the Store, it notes Update above them, so maybe I should just go ahead and do them all.
