latency issues following program update

emtsulita wrote on 5/21/2015, 12:18 AM

Ever since I updated MM2015, I've had issues with the latency settings an playback/record. If I use one of the mic inputs, I get no playback, but the audio comes through. If I use the other input, I might get playback, but when I record, it picks up the metronome in the new recording, louder than the actual recording, despite using headphones and even using direct input on the guitar (no mic to explain this). Sometimes, the playback will start, but I can hear random crackling, and the sound soon cuts out. I can't even play the tracks to practice with most of the time.

I have tried all kinds of combinations between the 2008 and 2011 latency drivers, and none seem to work. I had no issues when I first installed the program, this has only started since I did the update 2 weeks ago. Windows 8.1 is the platform I'm running the program on. Any way I can undo the update without losing any of my files, or should I just pull the files, uninstall, reinstall and then just skip the update? I downloaded the program without the backup CD, so not even sure if this is possible :-(

Though version is different but the PDF tutorial will still give you some suggestions.

As nihon94 has indicated, install ASIO4ALL and select it.

You say that you updated 2 weeks ago. Do you mean an update to MMM2015 or to the latest patch? The latest patch is 21.0.4.50.

Updating to a patch does not cause a loss of files or work and does not require anything to be uninstalled. You click on Help, Online update and the program will check for the latest patch. Follow the instructions.

How are you connecting your microphone? Directly to the mic input on the computer or through a USB interface? What is the other connection? Do you mean the mic input on the front or back of your computer or something else?

See also this tutorial for tips on settings and another location to turn on earphones is located.

Lastly, if you downloaded the program from Magix and registered with them, then you can log in to support and navigate to the list of everything that you have purchased and download the program again.

One thought about the metronome. Did you turn it off before playing back your recording? If not, it will play during playback.
