Large MP4s with Voiceover Don't Play Audio after an Edit

Wayne-McIlvaine wrote on 4/13/2025, 9:31 PM

I imported a 15 minute MP4 clip from OBS of a PowerPoint presentation with voiceover. All video and audio plays fine in the editor until I clip the track and splice two pieces back together. The video after the cut/splice plays fine, but audio remains muted for the next 60 seconds or so, and then suddenly returns to normal.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

Creating proxies temporarily fixed the issue, but it's now back again.

@Wayne-McIlvaine

Files produced from the basic OBS settings can cause problems in other video editors.

These settings work for me. Try them and see if things improve.If you have a 4K monitor adjust the screen recording size accordingly.

Ray.
