Does Music Studio already know your VST folder? If not, you need to add in your program settings. If it already does, then try to rescan your VST folder.

Yes Music Studio 2020 uses the same VST folder as Music Studio 2019 did and Kontakt 5 works with MS2019 but not with MS2020. Did I waste my $$$ upgrading?

What are your VST settings? Could you make a screenshot of your settings?

Is this what you are asking for?

😀

Yes, very good. Click on Add... and select the folder where your Kontakt dll files are stored. Then click on Scan.... Then it should work.

The folders shown did have the Kontakt 5 VST so after sending you the screenshot, I decided to look further.and found a Kontakt 5 VST in an X86 folder so added that and it worked. If Samplitude MS 2020 is a 64 bit program, I thought it would use a 64 bit VST but in the case of Kontakt 5 it uses an X86 VST. I wish Magix had this info on their website.

64 bit plugins work fine in Music Studio. There is a file called VstPlugins_x64.ini in one of your Music Studio folders. This file lists all found VST plugins. It can help if you make a backup of this file to a save place and then delete it. The next time you start Music Studio it will recreate the file. Then start scanning for plugins again and check, if 64 bit Kontakt is added to your VST instruments. If something is went wrong just replace it with your backup file.

In my installation of Music Studio, for some reason unknown to me, only 64 bit plugins are shown in the plugin browser. 32 bit plugins are ignored when I scan. Maybe this happens because all my plugins are installed in 32 and 64 bit versions and Music Studio defaults to 64 bit. But that is just speculation on my part.
