Keyboard Shortcuts and the Midi Editor

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but how do you play using the keyboard in the midi editor? I use to be able to do so a long time ago but now, a keyboard shortcut comes up each time i press a key instead of a piano note. It's been driving me nuts. I'm presently using Music Maker 2024 Version 32.0.2.8. on a Windows 10 PC.

@Tridensky Does it work if use the separate on-screen-keyboard? Make sure the track is set to MIDI Rec in the track header.

The keyboard outside of the midi editor works if i click on it first. But in the editor, all keys in there open up some window as a shortcut in Magix. Sound comes out if i click on notes in the editor or on screen keyboard outside of the editor. but pressing notes will not control the keyboard inside the editor.

The window in the screenshot is where im trying to use my keyboard for keys.
