Just attached an Alesis V49 to Samplitude 2013 - no response in or out - Why?

I have just attached an Alesis V49 to Samplitude 2013, set Midi in as MIDIIN2(V49) and Midi out as MIDIOUT2(V49), same for Global record and playback and then set midi out to Vita Piano in track editor but getting no sound nor any recording - no signal lights for midi showing either.  Am using ASIO4ALLv2 as ASIO device on  Windows 10.  Can someone advise as to how to get the Alesis to co-operate? (by the way have never attached a midi keyboard before as previously solely audio input)

Hi,

Try setting midi out to your sound card, not the V49.

Thank you - found that it works if I just leave midi in as V49 rather than MIDIIN2(V49).
