Issues with files attaching to each other

All of a sudden now when I open an audio file in SoundForge 11.0 and try to open a second audio file, the second file pastes into the first on Windows 10 Pro 64bit. Why is this happening now when it never did before and how do I stop it? It's baffling me.

I don't know what you doing exactly. But first guess is to look in "options->drag and drop editing". If there is marked "paste" it would explain this behaviour.

I fixed it with a Windows restore but this has happened before and I have no idea why it does. You open a file, then go to open another and it just pastes into the first one instead of opening a second window. Frustrating.
