Is this program good for making YouTube Poops with?

I've been using Vegas Pro for years, but I'm getting the itch to try alternatives. I mostly make videos with just a TON of small edits and audio mixing though, and it tends to crash Vegas a lot when I get too greedy. But I like how fast Vegas is and the amount of render control it gives me compared to Final Cut Pro. Final Cut Pro is a beast though, and it doesn't seem suited to the kind of garbage videos I like to make. Anyone in the same boat have some takeaways about Video Pro X?

Hi and welcome to the user to user forums.

Personally I think both VPX and the cheaper Magix Movie Studio would be more than adequate for this use but make sure to look at the specs page to run the programs and ensure you exceed them where possible if you want a smooth hassle free editing experience. One reason for that is although the minimum specs run the basic program any third party effects supplied my exceed those requirements.

Second make sure to see and adhere to the file types the program can import.

Movie Studio 2025 Ultimate would probably give you all the third party effects you would need to be as creative as you like.

You have the choice of a subscription or perpetual licence. Personally I prefer perpetual but others may disagree.

You could try a trial version to see if you like it as the layout is quite different to Vegas but some parts may be disabled.

Ray.

@AbbyRemix

Hi

. . . . I've been using Vegas Pro for years ... Vegas ... compared to Final Cut Pro . . . .

Can you clarify the following, please:

  • Vegas Pro - is/was this running on a PC/Windows or on a MAC in a Virtual Machine, eg Parallels/Windows ?

  • Final Cut - was this on a MAC or on a PC in a Virtual Machine, eg Virtual Box/MacOS ?

  • Video Pro X - which OS and computer type are you intending to run this on ?

    If a Windows/PC - does it meet or preferably exceed the minimum system requirements ?

    If on a MAC using an Apple M1 processor and eg Parallels/Windows, this combination is unsupported, and you may find the performance will be poor.
