Is it possible to include audio with screen captures?

I've been trying to do a screen capture with the audio.  In the MEP MX Premium screen capture dialog window, I see the two rows of audio indicators seemingly showing audio.  But after the capture, there's no audio.

If this is possible, e.g., on YouTube, how do I get the audio?  Or are some videos programmed not to let the audio be captured?  Thanks.

(using Win 7-64 bit; sound card is onboard.)

I've never used MEP or VPX for screen capture but my immediate first thought is that this problem is quite likely caused by the way Win 7 handles audio.

However, first, when the video is "replayed" is there an audio track visible on the timeline?  If not, then, for some reason, audio is apparently not being recorded, despite what the meters show.  If there is a visible audio track, then the settings in Windows audio are almost certainly "wrong", or rather, inconsistent.  In either scenario, the "solution" is similar.

Essentially you have to ensure that both input ("Recording") and output ("Playback") are set to the correct choices and that the sample rate matches.  (Precisely how this is done can vary between different machines!) The video itself must also be set in MEP to playback at the chosen sample rate, normally 48kHz for video.  Win 7, especially with internal or on-board sound, has been known to cause any number of audio problems because its settings have to be made so precisely; even a "Windows Sound" message, such as to indicate arrival of email, can force a change to sample rate (most Windows Sounds are 44.1kHz, I think) and that change will stick until the user forces it to change back.  (For serious audio usage the advice is always to completely disable Windows Sounds so that problems of this type can be avoided.)

Thanks for the reply.  There's no audio track.

Have you the correct settings at "Audio drivers" ?

When clicking "Configuration", there may be hooked off at "Do not write audio data"

I'm not able to help you, but i think there are Settings to be changed at your Soundcard. Go to Control Panel and check there.

Thanks for the reply.  Here are my screenshots.  I don't seem to have a choice of Audio driver.  It's the same even if Audio Preview is checked.  All I hear while recording is the audio from the browser.
