Is it possible to globally set fonts, color, and size of text to be used in subtitles?

I am making a music video with clips of various songs.  I am trying to add the lyrics of each song.  So far, it has been very tedious.  I am using Title/Standard/Small Subtitles for each line.  (Originally, I was typing in each line of text and then had to try to place by hand each line in the same position as the previous line.  At least, using Small Subtitles places the captions in the same spot near the bottom of the video).

However, after typing a line of lyrics, then I have to go to Title/General to adjust it to the font style, size, placement and color.  I am thinking there has to be an easier way to set some sort of "temporary" default so I can use the same settings throughout the video clip.

Hopefully I have explained clearly what I am currently doing and someone can share an easier way to add lyrics as subtitles to a video.

Thanks.

Hi,

For a start, do the first one which will be the template, then copy the title object and drag it by holding down Ctrl and dragging with the left mouse button. Release Ctrl. Drag the copied title object to where you want, change the title, repeat.

You can also open the drop down on the title editor, save the title as a template with whatever name that you want, and then load it/insert it again using the popdown at each location. I'm not at my computer so I can't guide you more than that.

Hi,

Use Microsoft Word software or any word processor software, download your music text from a Website and copy in Word.

If you use 2 screen monitors from one screen you have the Word software and the main screen you have your Magix VDL. Select from Word the text you need or a portion of the text, use Ctrl + C to copy in memory and paste in Title editor in your Magix VDL using Ctrl + V..

A real subtitle software can copy a text file like SRT or a text file like SAMI the SAMI keep all text parameter. Take a look of SubTitle Edit. Search on the Web software to add directly subtitle on video file.

Regards,

Thanks to you both.  You provided very helpful information which will certainly simplify the process of adding subtitles.

Hi,

One other thing, you can do Enter after each line in the text box to add more lines. You can also copy/ paste text from a text editor. No need to create multiple text boxes one below the other.
