Is it possible to do a video wall effect

Is it possible to do a video wall effect in MEP?  I'm thinking of the effect where you have 12 or so video screens on a 3D wall all playing simultaneously and you can zoom in on one stream at a time.  If so, do you have any suggestions for a template?

Thanks!

Tim

konjurer,

'Effects' >> 'Design elements' >> 'Collages' provides many templates for arranging multiple clips onto one screen. You simple select the first of a group of objects and apply the collage you want. As MEP is 'non-destructive' it's easy to undo and try as many options as you want.

It is possible to make changes to the templates provided but there is no option for user interaction while viewing your final movie

Hi Tim,

You can also try Effects, Design effects, Picture-in-Picture. In MEP2016 Premium, I have templates for 5 images. After that, you have to resize and do them yourself using Effects, View/Animations (new name in 2016), Size/Position. You will have to do some calculations of size and then the position of each image.

If you do a search in the Forum, Movie Edit Pro for PIP and collage, you will find many discussions and some tips and tricks on how to set these up.

Another source, if you have proDAD Heroglyph, under the Title tab, there is a wizard to create a videowall. This came with a previous version of MEP or VPX.

Hi

If you are wanting that the video wall is looped and a user can select any of the video on the wall and have the selected video zoomed in and played then this cannot be done easily MEP using one timeline.

The only way to do this in MEP would be to create a multi movie disc (DVD or BD) and create a custom disc menu that looks like a video wall.

This can be done, however there are limitations eg the number of 'menu items' ie individual wall videos is restricted to between 6 to 9 depending on the menu template you start with.
