I don't have Samplitude, but there does seem to be a pattern developing in regards to Power Chords.

Myself, and at least one other person, have had an issue with Power Chords in MMM.  For us, it has stopped behaving normally.  Now it will only play a very short "attack" but without any further ability to sustain the chord.

Is this problem related to yours?  Who knows....but, it is suspicious.

Hi Procyon!

You're my only help lately!;)

Yes, I have noticed that short attack thing too.  But, after that problem I was having with Power Chords, I started having an avalanche of other problems.  I worked really hard putting together a nice template, and then, one by one, it just seemed to unravel!!:(  I ran MAGIX's system analysis tool and updated some Windows drivers that they suggested.  I wonder if it's a Windows Vista thing and not so much a Samplitude problem.  I've never gotten a "warm fuzzy" with Vista.  I've been putting off getting a Mac, but now...

So, I started all over with my template and am trying to keep it more simple and with as few effects as possible.

Thanks again for your input!

Jim

I am using Windows XP.  Vista is a bit flakey, and many people have had issues with it.

In the first arrangement I used Power Chords in, it still works fine. In every subsequent arrangement, I get the "short attack syndrome".

I try to help when I think I can, but I certainly don't know everything about MMM, let alone Samplitude. The vast majority of questions are about technical issues with the software, not its use. Unfortunately, there are far more people asking questions than people who can give adequate answers.

Well, I ended up starting all over and just creating a new project from scratch.  Power Chords seems to be behaving normally.  It seems to me that if a project gets too big, things go astray.  Part of what I was doing when testing the free 30-day trial was stress testing (i.e., how many tracks, MIDI instruments, and effects can I set up before it chokes).  Even though I was able to get the max'd out project to run, it didn't continue to run when I tried to use it as a template--it had all kinds of unpredictable behaviour.

So, I guess, the rule of thumb is...

Set up only what you need and keep it siimple (unless you have a lot of procecessor/memory).
