I have purchased a copy of movie edit pro 2020 and put it on a new laptop and whether i am using the program or not, I get very ugly and unwanted movie magix movie studio pop ups whenever I start my laptop. I have read the posts about their removal and none of them work, the only programs listed in windows 11 with magix are a "Burn" program and the movie edit pro. I took all others out. System mechanic doesn't list any magix programs in their start up cleanup module. My hide news button is checked in the Edit pro system preferences. These are the solutions others have suggested.
While I love the editing part of edit pro, the pop up tricks and that's a mild world for it, are not something any busy computer user should put up with. Why Magix would alienate long term paying users with this problem is beyond me. And I do not accept that this is a common practice that was posted here when someone else tried to complain about it. That's like saying there's a lot of crime and many people are doing it. What it is is an intrusive ad trick, unwelcome "foot in the door" ploy, and unpaid for on line sales pitch. It's more like when someone pays for no advertising on a TV producers app and gets the ads anyway. And so, if anyone has any user tricks to counteract the Magix ad tricks to stop those pop ups, I would be overjoyed to hear about them and have them available to me and other unsuspecting users of what is otherwise a great video editing program.
