There seems to be a problem interfacing the sound driver properly, which might mean that there is no proper, fully functional sound driver, that something is set incorrectly in Music Maker or that there's some kind of driver conflict with another audio driver. Try going through the following steps first and experiment a little with the settings, if necessary, to work out what sound driver settings works for you:
Open Music Maker and start a new project. When you're in the main screen, press "P" on your keyboard to get into the program/audio settings. In the "Audio playback" section of that dialog, you will have the choice between three different types of audio drivers. Try the different modes and go back to the project every time to check whether you can now successfully insert and replay audio information. For the Wave and DirectSound driver selection, you should be able to find the name of your main sound driver in the "Output device" drop-down list in that screen. Make sure that's the one you pick. When using ASIO drivers, you'd have to make sure the right audio hardware is picked under the "Advanced" button.
