Intermittent sound when transferring from video

Dioxo wrote on 5/23/2023, 12:31 PM

Hello, I have been using Rescue your videotapes version 3 with my old PC (Windows 7) for several years with no issues. I recently changed my PC and now have Windows 11 Pro 64 bit. I have bought and updated version (Video Saver!) and downloaded programme from disc provided. When I try to transfer from my VHS video recorder to PC the picture is fine but the audio is intermittent. The lines that show the audio level keep showing that sound is not being transferred. I have tried with several videos, all of them play fine on video player when connected to TV. I have also noticed that video and sound is out of sync.

I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling again just in case I had missed something.

Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong? Thanks

@Dioxo

Hi

. . . . Windows 11 . . . .

Check in Windows, Settings, Privacy & Security, Apps permissions, scroll down to see this option, Microphone that the Let desktop apps access your microphone option, scroll down to see it, is turned on.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have checked and it is already showing as on and shows the times that Video Saver has been accessed in recent activity.

I have also tried another cable in the adapter but that doesn't work either. Could it be a problem with the adapter itself? It is trying to do it but keeps intermittently losing the audio.

Is there anything else i could have set up incorrectly?

@Dioxo

Have you checked the driver for the USB convertor is the correct one and is properly installed? This page lists the available driver downloads.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I just installed the programme using the disc that came in the box. How or where do I check which one is installed and how do I know if it is installed properly? Sorry I'm not great with tech

Hi Diane

. . . . How or where do I check which one is installed and how do I know if it is installed properly? . . .

Depending on the colour of the USB converter download and install the appropriate driver from the link @emmrecs gave you.

If the USB converter is marked K0065 or K0067 then download and install the Premium driver.

Hello again, I have tried to download driver as per link however it gets to 95% then stalls. It asks me to plug in video converter. I have tried this with it plugged in from the beginning and also plugging it in later when the box pops up but it doesn't seem to recognise it either way as the pop up box remains with only options to retry or cancel (see pic below) Retry doesn't do anything but cancel just cancels full installation saying failed as could not find device for driver.

I tried to use the actual programme whilst this was still open and it recognises the converter in the actual programme but still the same intermittent sound.

Any more ideas please

Diane
