Error opening .avi file: please install the following codec to decode the format 'RT21'.

Where do I get the codec?
I am trying to open .avi files originally saved on a Windows98 computer.

That is a very old codec which would appeaer to be no longer supported by Microsoft - it was an original Windows 3.1 codec. However a Google search will bring several sites to obtain the codec from.
