Instruments glitch? on Concert Grand and Concert Guitar are the Same!

GavrielDorani wrote on 4/6/2018, 8:39 AM

Just wanted you to know, the topic says it all. When I went to sample the sound of Concert Grand, I'm thinking hmm I wonder when the piano's going to kick in. Never did, played Concert Guitar and it was the same sample, I went back and forth just in case It was a minor confusion on my part and open and closed Music Maker to see if it loaded in right. I guess it could've been a download/install problem when I got the software (free & thank you). If the samples are directly linked to loading from online though it might be a problem on your end and for everyone. Thanks for your time and reading hope this helps bring attention to it. please email me (Magix if you find out what happened and so I can listen to the sample then maybe download it).

Hi,

No, I get the two distinct instruments. How and where are you playing them?

Hi

I also get 2 distinct instruments and melodies.

Try rescanning the soundpools - Program settings (P key), General options, Rescan soundpools to see if this fixes the problem.

@GavrielDorani is right. This is something that it's happening in some editions (EDM 2018 is the one I've installed) time ago.

Yo can go to the in-app store and try the audio preview for Concert Grand (piano) and Concert Guitar. Then you'll see that the very same preview is played (the guitar in both cases). So the associated downloaded instrument for Concert Grand is (maybe) wrong in the related store links.

@Nobody-None

I get 2 distinct instruments and tunes, both in the Store and the Instruments tabs.

There is only one version of the instruments for all editions of Music Maker 2018.

Assuming you have the two instruments installed, the demo tunes, which are wav files, are in the following folders:

Concert Grand - C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\MAGIX Services\MxSynth\Concert Grand

Concert Guitar - C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\MAGIX Services\MxSynth\Concert Guitar

If they are not there or are the same then it is likely that the Concert Grand installation has failed.

I just checked both instruments in the Store, and I got different songs and sounds for each; the guitar sounds like a guitar, the piano like a piano. Could it be that we are linking to different servers)?

Check the version of Music Maker that you have under Help, About. The latest is 25.1.2.78.

Thank you both for your comments.

The version of MMM I've installed (and updated) I think is the last available: EDM 2018 Edition v25.1.2.78 (as @browj2 suggested), running under Windows 7 Professional 64 bits. I've not installed those intruments, but the audio preview from the in-app store is the same, that's for sure.

I've tried to ''reorder store'' option under the General config tab (not sure how is it named in english, I'm using an spanish localiced version of MMM). And also tried to locate and delete the audio preview cache folder, but not sure where it is located.

The only thing i'm sure is that when the samples for audio preview in those two instruments (i.e. the guitar and concert grand) are played, it's played the same audio (the concert guitar).

TIA.
