Hi

Download the program again on the PC, install it and enter your serial number, when asked to register do so.  Depending on the version of ACL and whether it is using the new registration system you will get one of  four messages -

  1. registration successful

  2. cannot change registration for a period of time

  3. other computer will be deregistered

  4. program has been registered too many times.

In each case

  1. You are done - uninstall the software from the laptop

  2. Deregister the laptop installation - this is done in the program and reregister the PC installation

  3. Your done - if you want  to use the installation on the laptop you can now only change registered computers once per month

  4. contact Magic support to have the registration counter reset - explain why, then register again.

HTH

John

I downloaded the program to my Desktop,  Installed the program and now I'm stuck with a trail program which will not reconize my serial number. Feeling very annoyed that I purchase a program and can not use on another of my computers. I really do not think I will ever use this company again, feeling very cheated, will never purchase  a program again unless I have a disk. Wasted my money on another rip off company.

Your comments are unfounded. It is quite likely that you did something wrong.

Which version of ACL do you have? Always indicate this information in your questions; this information was indictated in the instructions when you posted the question in the first place.

Which version did you download? Is it the same as the one you have registered?

From where did you download the program? From the Magix.com site ? Did you log in to your account, go to My products and download the version that is registered to you? If not, then you probably downloaded the wrong version and your serial number will not work with it.

I went to my account and did not see anywhere  to download my program, so I then downloaded it from the Magix website. My version number I believe is 18. 0. 1. 12. (DC2) I will go back to my Account again to see if I can find how to download it from there Thank you for all your help

Make sure that you are in your account and not logged in to support. They are 2 separate areas. The first has your products, the other has patches. When you go to the Magix.com site, at the top right you will see the icons for a shopping cart and then of a person. Select the person icon. This will take you to the login screen for your account.

On in, select My Products. If you registered your ACL, you will see it on the list, including your serial number which you should note/copy and keep ready for activating ACL on your new computer.

Click on Installation program and download it.

Version 18.0.1.12 is an older version. It would be helpful if you indicated the year or name of the version that you have. I have ACL 2013 and the version 19. something.

The version that you downloaded is probably 2014, 20. something.

This is why I said that you downloaded the wrong version.

I keep all of my installation files so that I don't have to download again if I ever need to reinstall the program.

Printed off your instructions and followed completely, Everything seemed to download and install correctly, until I input my serial number, the program then tells me I only have a 7 day trial to use the program, all over again!!!!

the serial number was entered correctly as it then allowed me to enter my Email address but that's when it tells me 'm on a 7 day trial version. Thanks for all of your Help. But enough is  enough, I will purchase a different program locale and forget about it.

I'm surprised that you are giving up. So, most of your problems are those created by you.

As for the program telling you that you are on a 7-day trial version after accepting your S/N and email address and pressing on the button Activate with serial number (or something like that), well, you still must have done something wrong.

If you input the serial number properly, then it would have given you another screen saying that activation was successful.

Open the program, the new one that you installed. Does it give you the screen to activate the program? Or does it just open the program? If it asks for activation, carefully input the S/N and your email and click on Activate.

You can open the version that you have on your laptop and check that you have the correct S/N.

Click on Help, About, to find the S/N

On the latest download that you installed today, continue into the program and then click on Help, About.

What does it say on the screen?

Is the version number 18.0.1.12 or are the first 2 digits something else, and if so, what? If the version does not start with 18, then you probably ran the newer version that you downloaded.

Does your serial number show up?
