Installing Independence Pro on M1 Mac

Hi I've tried to install Independence Pro on my M1 Macbook Pro several times without success. I have installed Rosetta - the installation process starts and seems to be going well before I get a message that the software is missing.

Has anyone had success installing Independence Pro on a M1 mac?

Thanks

@herchster

Hi.

. . . . install Independence Pro on my M1 Macbook Pro several times without success. I have installed Rosetta . . .

Depending on the version of Independence you have:-

The older macOS Independence was capable of running on macOS upto and including Mojave - it is 32 bit only..

The current version of Independence Pro, is Windows only. Rosetta is for macOS and allows older macOS software from the Intel CPU period to run on more modern hardware,

Windows software requires an emulator such as Parallels +Windows installed, however there is no guarantee that Independence will be compatible, or run correctly.

. . . Has anyone had success installing Independence Pro on a M1 mac . . .

There are very few MAC users in the forum, so getting a definitive reply may not be forthcoming, if you go down the Parallels/Windows route then you are more likely to get help in the Parallels user forum.

Hi John thanks very much for your reply. That's a shame, I really liked the Independence samples. I think I will dust off an old windows machine rather than trying Parallels - that sounds like it might take me down a rabbit hole. I guess I'll have to work out how to sync a mac and a PC for recording purposes. Regards, Danny
