Installation problems

Sweeney-Robert wrote on 6/10/2019, 4:51 AM

The installation uncovered errors which resulted in the program running the 64 bit option on a 32 bit machine.

The program does not recognise my speakers on playback but all other editing programs ( VLC, WMP, Audacity) do.

Magix support suggests I should upgrade to a 64 bit computer to run this program properly.

Nobody told me this wheen I was buying it.

Are there other fixes?

@Sweeney-Robert

Welcome to the Magix forums.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this but, if read literally, what you write is actually just not possible! Under no circumstances can a 64 bit program run or even install on a 32 bit machine!  So, can you give us a little more detail about exactly what does or does not happen when you attempt to open Samplitude on your computer?

As to the suggestion that you would be best advised to consider the purchase/upgrade to a 64 bit operating system; clearly that is your decision whether to do so but 64 bit does offer considerably improvements over 32 bit, not least the opportunity to fully utilise almost any amount of RAM over 4GB, 4GB being the limit that 32 bit Windows can see and use.

As far as I know, you can install the 32 bit and/or 64 bit versions. This should have been an option when you installed the program. Check to see if you also installed the 32 bit version. If so, try running it and uninstall the 64 bit version. If not, try the installer again and watch to see if the 32 bit version is available.

There is a dedicated Samplitude forum at:

You should join there and review the posts about Pro X4.
