Installation failing

On Win 10 desktop (9gen i7 16GB) try to run installation file, but fails every time. Was using Brave browser, and eventually uninstalled it and restarted PC. Also turned off VPN in Norton. Still fails to run immediately. Had exactly the same problem on laptop (11gen i7 16GB) until I switched off the VPN, at which point it worked. Sadly, I shall not be using the laptop for this purpose, but really need it to run on the desktop.

Been trying to get the software installed for 2 weeks with no success. CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP????

Martin, what exactly was the message or error box that was shown? A screenshot would be good.

There have been issues with the download halting at around the 600mb mark, with a error message about checking the internet connection. In this particular case, the resolution was contacting Magix at infoservice@magix.net with your order details and they would normally send you a direct download link.

BTW, we're not Magix support, per se, just fellow users like yourself.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

Sometimes it is also necessary to turn off Windows defender for the duration of the download.

I also had to set Avast to not scan the program folders once installed. Norton, AVG, and Avast have been known to cause issues as posted some time back by the Magix staff here.

Assuming the Installation manager error message occurs immediately on running it, try disabling Norton Antivirus completely and check Microsoft Defender has turn back on in the PC, then try running the Installation Manager again - it should still be in the folder it was downloaded to on you PC - it should connect to the Internet and download the main program and install.
