@Roger-Dey

Welcome to the Magix users forum.

You mention MS Platinum, but exactly which release do you have? All recent ones have the year as part of the name, e.g., MS 2025 Platinum. I ask because that error message refers to a rather old version of Microsoft Visual C++ and so I wonder whether you actually have an "old" version of Movie Studio. If is version 17 or earlier, please read this post.

If you have a later version, my apologies! In which case we need to rethink.

@Roger-Dey

Hello Roger,

You want to install the latest MMS2025 Platium, but you receive the message: "The following task could not be completed. Installing Microsoft VisualC++2008 SP1(x64) Redistributable. Cause: Error Exit Code 1603"

You will likely need to update the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015-2022. You can download the latest version from here. See: Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn

Good luck,
Rob

Als een kwestie onoplosbaar lijkt, komt dat niet omdat je de oplossing niet ziet, maar omdat je het probleem niet ziet.

If an issue seems unsolvable, it is not because you do not see the solution, but because you do not see the problem.
