Install Problem

Hi There. I have downloaded the free Magix Music Maker onto my pc, but when I try to install it by clicking "run" I get a window come up which is headed "Setup Self Extractor" with a message inside which says "%1 is not a valid Win32 application. (193)" then under that it says C:\DOCUME~1\MRB24F~1.FID\LOCALS~1\Temp\mgxfg38oazv\MxDownloadManager.exe

I have typed that exactly as it is on my screen. I have windows running XP. I have also tried downloading from various other websites but every time I try to install by clicking "run" its always the same error message.

Please can anyone help me with this problem???

Thanks in advance. Brian.

Hi

. . . . I have windows running XP . . . .

This is a compatibility issue with the program installer and Music Maker being written with software which only supports Windows 7 and later.

The specification for Music Maker lists Windows 7 as the minimum version of Windows.

This issue is going to be a common one for all users still on Windows XP which is very old with support from Microsoft ended in April 2014.

IMHO it is time for an upgrade/new computer, depending on your current computers specification it may not support Windows 10.

Hi John. I had an idea that might be the reason. But I did google magix music maker in various ways, adding "XP" into the search and "32bit" on several websites, but they all ended up going to "magix" website anyway.

Have you got any recommendations for a similar program that will work on XP??

Many Thanks, Brian.

Music Maker 2015 or earlier, however it may be difficult to find an original boxed copy.

You may find 'used' boxed discs or download copies, however you run a large risk in purchasing these, you are reliant on the original user selling the original discs and/or deregistering the program.
