@John-Walter

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

This page clearly shows that Independence Pro is available as both 32 bit and 64 bit.

I have no idea if this would work but have you tried rerunning the installer and checking to see whether you are offered the 64 bit version? Otherwise you may need to uninstall your existing 32 bit version and then reinstall, making sure you choose the 64 bit version. I have Independence Free installed on my machine in 64 bit.

Yes, and redownload the installer from the website. Maybe you have an older version and only installed 32-bit.

And the weird thing is it has been working fine for years. Reinstalled whole thing. Just not showing up as a functional plugin.

Are Cubase and Ableton knowing the directory where you installed the plugins? Do they rescan the directory automatically? Please check the manuals.

John-Walter wrote on 10/3/2020, 7:23 AM

Yes I have scrupulously gone through that process. A month ago they were working fine. I have two folders where plugins are kept and neither Cubase or Ableton are recognising the independence plugin now. Standalone works fine.

Just to be sure, there are two files in your folder called Independence.dll and IndependenceFX.dll?

emmrecs wrote on 10/3/2020, 8:29 AM

@John-Walter

Further to what @SP. writes, those two .dlls should be Independence64.dll and IndependenceFX64.dll, at ;east they are on my system. BUT I can also see on my system that they actually exist inside a folder in the main VST(i) directory called "Independence Bridged" so I may have used jBridge to create these specific . dlls, I honestly can't remember!

Jeff

EDIT: to add; I just checked on my system and Independence (Free) is actually installed in Program Files (x86) so is clearly the 32 bit version. Hence the reason I must have used jBridge to create the 64 bit .dlls

In my case the plugins were installed in the folder C:\MyVSTDirectory\Magix\Independence\VSTPlugins64\

When installing I only specified MyVSTDirectory as the installation folder and the installer created to other subfolders. But I'm not using the installer from Magix.com. I'm using the version 3.6 installer that was posted in the official Samplitude forum. But that version has problems running outside of Samplitude.

Yay! Fixed it. Moved files from VST3 folder to VST2 folder. Don’t ask why that worked
