Incomplete burning of disk using MEP 17.

I have edited a series of individual clips into the desired movie. The movie plays in its entirety as desired in the preview section of the burn window.  Yet every attempt to burn to a disk results in only the first segment being burned. The burn menu reflects the correct number of bytes corresponding to the desired movie.  The resulting burned disk shows only the number of bytes included in the first segment.. I am using a Dell Inspiron 620 with Windows 7, 6 GB of Ram, And 1 TB Hard Drive. The processor is operating in excess of 3 G. Any help would be appreciated.  Russ Hanson,     e-mail: rhanson11@cfl.rr.com

Hi,

It's possible that the cause of your issue is different. But my suggestion would be that you first try the solution I and others have recommended several times in the last few months.

I've never had reliable burning using MEP over the years. I think its burning software doesn't support a wide enoough range of CD/DVD drives. I've reported it on various occasions in detail, but it remains unfixed.

So, my solution: I leave the disk out when I start the MEP burn routine. When MEP has finished the encoding stages (which it always does successfully unless I've made some sort of mistake) it then asks me to insert a disc. I don't do that, but instead hit Cancel and then Close.

I then go to the folder of DVD files which MEP will have written to the location I specified in Program Settings >  Folder > Disc images and play the DVD from there to satisfy myself it's OK. Then finally I burn the folder to disc with the excellent ImgBurn (free).

If or when I get my next PC, then I'll try MEP''s burner again, as it's obviously slightly more convenient to do the whole thing in MEP. But until then, no thanks!

Hi Russ: Pleased to hear that worked OK. Thanks for the feedback.
