in midi editor, i am unable to "resize" individual notes

I know it's something I did, but I don't know how to stop it. My problem is in Samplitude music studio 14, I also have 15 and I don't have the problem there, and I'm checking and re-checking the settings, they are similiar, so I'm not understanding why when I put my mouse over an individual note, it only let's me move the note to a different grid, it doesn't let me make it longer.
Now, when I go to the top and select "half note" "whole note" etc, it changes ALL of my notes to that. I just want ONE note to be a whole note...
OK hopefully this makes sense. Please help.

I don't own Samplitude, but since no one else is helping, I'll take a stab at it.

When MAGIX had a screenshot of it on their website, I noticed it closely resembled the MIDI editor in Music Maker.

I recently had a very similar experience.  It turns out that the quantization resolution (note length) was reset on mine.  It didn't change any of my existing notes, but I was unable to adjust any notes to a finer resolution until I changed it back to the grid resolution.

My guess is you can't set the resolution of individual notes, but you need to set it to the smallest note resolution you require for the object.

Same problem for me with Samplitude Pro X3 in 2017

I think it's a bug because i can't resize the notes of each projects i load.

Different era - 2010, and vastly different program. Please don't resuscitate old threads, make your own and fully describe your problem - like are you talking about the score editor or the MIDI (piano roll) editor? Etc.

Yes in the MIDI editor window.
At the top on the left, i can choose a type of event (i had never noticed that before) which is set on "NOTE ON". So I feel like the NOTE OFF messages are ignored but it do nothing special when i try to change it.

PS:
Sorry for the resuscitation ^^
