Importing video and pictures via the edit tab does not save, why?

Hi I'm new to this stuff, I've had a look through the software book and I still can not import a picture at the start of a video.
Also I've tried to edit video clips such as fading from picture to video adding video clips, music, captions , but when it comes to saving the project it it fails.

IE I've saved it in a folder and when I try and open the project again I can not find it

Do I need to import video clips first then edit them?

Hi Andy, I think I have had the same issue. I brought four or so video clips into the editor, split them up, deleted the unwanted parts and saved the project multiple times throughout. The next day when i opened the project, there was only one video clip in the editor. Obviously, all my edits from the previous day were gone too. This was not the first time it hapenned. (This was all with Movie Edit Pro 15.) Has anyone else seen this? I am wondering if it is a bug in the program or something I am doing incorrectly.

Hi There! There are  certainly confusing elements and a learning curve here.

How I finally got my stills in was to move them to another folder in my explorer then I had no problem draggin them in to the timeline. Go figure!

Also, on that missing clips issue. The movie reel button below the monitor is where I found my clips. I thought I  had lost my captures/edits but when I clicked the movie reel button They were there in the fly out.

Hope this helps!
