Importing to 2023 Movie Studio - video is black screen - audio works

Long time user of MEP just upgraded to 2023 Movie Studio a few days ago. When importing video files (mp4, MOV) they appear black. Audio is fine. Please see screenshot below. Specs for my computer and version in the signature below. I've seen other people post about related issues but no solutions posted thus far (that I know of). Thanks.

Hi.

In the program settings try opening the Device options and setting the Import, Processing,and Export settings all to CPU.

@CubeAce You were correct! Thank you. The default setting was for the Graphics Card.

(On another note I suspect it would be helpful to upgrade my graphics card to improve general performance but I have no idea where to start to find one that fits my computer)

As your computer is PCi express 16 compatible I would suggest any graphics nvidia card with 4GBs of vram and has at least a Turing GPU core and no earlier. If you have a small factor motherboard there are normally smaller cards with one fan that have the same specs as their larger brothers. RTX cards may perform better than GTX cards. nvidia over AMD because of the NVENC encoder advantage.
