"more tracks n formats required to use this function" do i have to upgrade to be able to upload my own mp3 recordings so i can add tracks and effects etc ?
If you are using the free version then you will find that the number of effects and functions is limited.
You would be better off buying the Plus or Premium version of Music Maker and get the features and functionality in one go and more economically, when you purchase you put the serial number you will be sent into the free version - this will unlock the extra content which consists of more Soundpools, Instruments, Features/Functionality - these will be available under the Downloads tab.
Did you follow exactly the steps that @johnebaker gave?

I have bolded some of John's words to highlight the steps you must take. From what you write it sounds as if you have not yet downloaded all the additional content to which you are now entitled.
is it possible JEFF, that ive deleted the free version upon installing premuim version?? ive no idea whats going on here... with regards to free content etc... ive logged into store and given both codes and still nothing... so im defo doin something wrong.... any help would be gratefully recieved
But... it might well prove useful to anyone finding this thread in the future if you could post here exactly what you had to do to resolve the problem.
The free version of Music is the base for the Plus and Premium versions.
When you purchase the Plus or Premium version you still have the same core program, however the activation to the Plus or Premium variants gets you more Soundpools, Instruments, more tracks, Features, Effects and functionality including VST and MP3 support among others.
