importing image files, one per frame

Hi all, I'm using Movie Edit Pro 16 Plus HD.

I'm trying to take a large number of image files (PNG files), each 640 x 480 pixels, and all sequentially named (imag0001.png, imag0002.png, ... , imag2714.png), and import them into MEP16 so that each occupies one video frame and there are no blanks spaces in between. The goal is to turn them into a real movie (avi).

I can import them in bulk, but most end up with a blank frame between adjacent images. So: is there a way to bulk load them without a blank frame in between images? Barring that, is there a quick & easy way to remove all blank frames? I can't fathom moving 2,700 images!

Hi,

I tried this by dragging in 400 or so JPGs of mixed sizes from an XP folder. And with a similar number of PNGs. But I couldn't get any gaps between the single frame images in several attempts. Same with MEP16 and MEP17.

So I'm mystified as to the cause. No unusually high PC activity simultaneous with the import? No corruption in the files themselves? You had set Standard picture length to '1 Frame'?

Anyway, if as you say you have somehow ended up with occasional gaps, then r-click the second transition icon and apply Cut (no fade) to all objects, like this:

Please let me know if that helps. We're just users like you, and feedback is appreciated.

Hi Terry, thanks for your suggestions! I tried the Cut (no fade) option, but it didn't do anything. However, you inadvertantly gave me an idea. I thought, why would it work in the UK but not the US? Frame rates! I changed the movie's frame rate from 29.97 to 25 and voila, all image files imported with no frame gaps. Hurray!
