Importing FX from Video_Pro_X3 to Movie Edit Pro MX Premium

markg wrote on 10/12/2011, 10:06 AM

Hi, I created a movie using a trial version of Video Pro X3 (VPx3) which uses a number of the *.vis effects. We then purchased a full version of Movie Edit Pro MX premium (MEPMX) to do further work on the video. However, non of the *.vis effects work even though they are listed in the project and displayed on the timeline.

How do I get MEPMX to use the *vis effects built into VPx3?

markq,

As you now know from the other Magix forum they are GONE.

Nice one Magix! Perhaps they will reappear in a patch, please.

Carl

Yes, thanks - I found that other thread. Pretty annoyed really because it was the performance of the the trial program is available for download and which does support those fx, that led me to purchase MEP MX Pro.

There's a trade descriptions thing here isn't there? Magix ought to make it clear that the program you buy won't support all the features available in the trial version.

So I guess the next thing is to put some heavy pressure on Magix to get this sorted. I am struggling to find a way of doing this through their website at the moment.

Regards,

Mark

But markq, MEP MX Pro and VPX are two quite distinct programs; just check the price difference!

I don't think it's reasonable to assume that features you used in the (considerably) more expensive VPX must be available in MEP MX Pro.

FWIW I run VPX and have done since version 1.  The price (and the progressive upgrades) have made a not inconsiderable hole in my finances but I have never regretted moving from MEP (the last version I purchased, and still have, is 15+).

Last changed by emmrecs on 10/13/2011, 4:26 AM, changed a total of 2 times.

emmrecs,

Point taken, for things like multi (>2) cam editing, more control of color correction etc, but the 'Visuals', the abstracts that move in time to the audio like the Windows Media players stuff, have been around for a long time. They are certainly available in MEP17+, as far back as MEP14+, and IIRC back to MEP10 and maybe earlier.

I've not used them much but it is a genuine reduction in features.
