@christianf7

Hi

This often occurs when the mp3 sample rate is not 44.1 or 48 kHz and/or the bitrate is too low.

For video the standard sample rate for audio is 48 kHz.

Thanks. However, my files have a standard sample rate. The most interesting thing is, that this crackling didn't occure on the same files a month ago.

Unfortunately, for mp3s there is no such thing as a standard sample rate, unless you mean they actually are 48kHz.

If they are 48kHz can you post one of them which creates this problem for you to a file-sharing site and provide the link here or, if you do not wish to have the file publicly available, PM the link to me. I'd be interested to test such a file, admittedly in VPX 14, but also in a range of audio programs.

You're right, there is no standard like for CDs. I rather meant a common sample rate. Here it is 48 kHz.

This often occurs when the mp3 sample rate is not 44.1 or 48 kHz and/or the bitrate is too low.

If it occurs in Magix software only, it is not a problem of the audio file. Magix software should be able to process any kind files declared as supported.

I opened the file in FL Studio:

Hi Christian. Have you right clicked the file and set the tack to 0dB and then checked the audio mixer is just .01 down off of zero and then enabled the limiter in the master sliders?

Are you running more than a few audio tracks?

If so, go to the program settings and adjust the sample rate up one setting at a time and see if that clears it.

While you are there check you are using the wave driver setting. Try not to increase any buffer amounts.

Unlike a Music DAW, audio in a video editor gets loaded in chunks ahead of the frames to be edited. This is all done in real time so if a chunk of audio arrives late it can start off as a series of clicks. Later it gets worse if settings don't keep up with demand as more tracks are added or if higher sample rates / bit depth files get mixed into the project.

Ray.

Following on from @CubeAce comment we need more information:

Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Display options tab.

The amount of free space on the hard drive(s) you have.
