Import mp3/wav - pitch too fast and crackling sound

Tom-Cech wrote on 4/14/2021, 5:15 AM

I just downloaded a trial version of Magix Music Maker 17, when I tried to import an mp3/wav the pitch automatically changed (waaay too fast) and there is a strong crackling sound throughout. It is a classical piece so even getting the bpm down to 60 doesn't help much, neither does disabling the remix maker or adjusting the khz. Is it my computer or am I missing something? I used an older version of MMM before and did this often without any problems. Drag and drop an mp3, cut pieces I like and make loops. Should be a piece of cake.. Any help would be much appreciated.

@Tom-Cech

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

From where were you able to download a trial version of Music Maker 17? The latest released version is 29 so yours is 12 full versions old!!

I think we need to resolve this conundrum before we even attempt to help you with the audio issues.

Music Maker 17 is an old version (it runs on XP, Vista and Windows 7). What operating system are you you using? Is it adjusting the bpm to project bpm? Is it something to do with sampling rate? Is it something to do with audio settings? Or is it because it's very old software?

There is a site which lists it but I'm not convinced it's not a dodgy site that may be trying to install other stuff.

Or really it's just a redirect for downloading the latest free version.

Thanks for the responses so far, I had no idea this version was that old haha :p I think it would be best to download a more recent version, hopefully it is equally easy to use and I won't have audio issues.

That seems to be the solution, if you still have audio issues with new version, feel free to return and create a new post.
