@Joseph-Faybish

Hi and welcome to the forum

. . . . Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 10, updated. . . .

Can you clarify what you mean by updated, ie updated to what?

. . . . Until recently I could IMPORT files type JPG . . . .

What changed on the computer between working and not working? For example did you upgrade to Windows 10?

Ant additional relevant information may help.

Updated mean: latest version of the program, for quite some time now. And it worked OK.

Nothing changed on the computer, it is still Windows 7 and of course there are no updates to Windows 7.

It seems (just an impression, not sure) that I imported a PNG file (with transparent areas) and since then the JPG disappeared from the list of imported files.

Hi

In the Import dialog click the indicated button shown below and change the file type to either All files or jpg.

Thank you John. The problem was that in this pull-down list the JPG and the AllFiles were missing (?). There is a Xara system file, FileFormats.xml where the JPG is, strangely enough, defined (this file defines the type of files to be imported). I did solve the problem in a very strange way: There is a top tab "Insert - Image - From File..." and when I went there the JPGs listed. When then, I went to "Import", the JPGs were suddenly there. I believe there is a bug hiding there since when I tried to click on some extensions there (for which I did not have files) these extensions disappeared second time around (though these re-appeared after Off-On).

@Joseph-Faybish

Hi,

Why don't you just use Windows Explorer to drag and drop jpg and other files into Xara?

Hi

That does sound like it could be a bug or a slow refresh of the list.

off the specific subject - my 999 jpgs download fine as a batch BUT each jpg takes up 5 seconds of timeline. is there any way to change the default to something shorter? Email address removed by Moderator

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums. You should never post confidential data, like your email address, to a public forum like this one. Hence I have edited your post.

You have posted your question to the forum area for Magix Photo and Graphic Designer but the mention of 5 seconds of timeline suggests you are actually using Photostory Deluxe or one of the range of video editing products. Please tell us exactly which product you have and I will move your post to the correct forum area.

Hi

Please start a new topic in the correct section of forum for the product for Video Pro X and Movie Studio use the Video section, for Photostory use the Photo & Graphics section.

@noelpaul-stookey

 i was asking a question about VEGAS V18 video editing software

Is this Movie Studio v 18, in which case follow John's advice.

Or do you have Magix Vegas Pro 18? In which case you are in completely the wrong forums, sorry! Please read this pinned post for information on the correct forums for you.
