@David-Pook Just convert your music files to formats like WAV or MP3 and drag and drop or import them into Music Maker.

Yes I know i can do that, but thats a pain in the ass, so why isnt there an option to just import from phone as well?? Thats really my question and I am surprised this software doesnt have that option. Its a work around as you suggest, but its not ideal 😌

I'm confused as to why you would think Music Maker would have that option. It's not as if it's a music player program.It's not a feature in my more advanced DAWs although there are probably workarounds.If I had a track on my phone, which for some reason I wanted to import into Music Maker, I could plug the phone into my laptop and find it with file manager in Music Maker as long as it's in a usable format.

Graham, I appreciate your comment, I really do and in a similar vein as SP, its definitely doable etc, but I am just saying that why make things more difficult or cumbersome for others when you could easily add the option under Import. Thats all I was saying and maybe now the comment has been made, its an option the makers may introduce in the future?!

I still don't understand why you would want to do this. Other problems would be that Itunes stuff is in a format not typically supported in Windows programs. Even in a state of the art program like Abelton Live the answer is to convert to MP3. Besides being a DAW that program can be used for live DJ sets. The top of the range DAW Cubase also needs it to be converted. Thus it is not something you will ever see in Music Maker. Even if it was feasible.

Checking further on this once a track is in a suitable format it's just a straight drag and drop operation to import tracks and Mausic Maker works just like other DAWs.

@David-Pook

Hi

. . . . I am just saying that why make things more difficult or cumbersome for others when you could easily add the option under Import.  . . . .

The difficulty with iTunes comes from the fact that Apple made it that way, ie the music you download from Apple Music is protected by FairPlay DRM Protection that it will only play in iTunes, this is what @Graham-Hawker was referring to above .

Having an import function from iTunes would first have to break the DRM then convert the file to a usable format - breaking DRM is illegal in many countries.

Once you have got the music onto you computer, the music, like any other commercial, and some non commercial, music is still copyrighted, you cannot use it or parts of to create a new work without permission of the Copyright owners.
