Program keeps giving me this "file type 101" error, on startup, and when I try to use the denoiser. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, no improvement.
Which version, build of Sound Forge, file types and other details that are needed to help you.. see Read the 'Sticky' at the head for the main Sound Forge forum page.
That said, have you tried resetting Sound Forge and clearing the cache. 'File> "Reset all preferences and clear cached data" (if SF will not launch or crashes before the File menu is available, hold down the 'Ctrl+Shift' keys, whilst launching SF, which will open the reset dialog)
btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Steven-White.
Magix Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab 4 26.0.0.23 (DP3) Unicode. I did a complete uninstall and reinstall, and the problem reappears only after I start the "DeNoiser". It appears that DeNoiser can't "import file type 101" which it needs to do.
I am not very familiar with Cleaning Lab, if it does not have the "File> Reset" menu item, hold down the 'Ctrl+Shift' keys, whilst launching CL. Most Magix apps have the same reset procedure access. Reinstalling does not totally reset the app, Try uninstalling again, but use a third-party uninstaller like Revo Uninstall, that can remove left-over registry entries and other pertinent data the OS uninstall leaves behind, which in usually the root of recurring issues. Revo Uninstall has a pro and freeware versions. The free version is adequate in most cases,
If the above does not work, request support at the top of the page.
By the way, there is a forum specific to 'Cleaning Lab' and have moved the topic to the pertinent forum.
Thanks for following up. Yes, I did use the Revo program to uninstall. I really like the cleaning lab program, especially for the denoiser which really helps when working with old cassettes. I hope some solution can be found to the "file type 101" glitch. I see I'm not the only one experiencing it.
When installing, I saw : audiovis.dll - not downloaded (I think, it disappeared fast) Then error while writing noise sample file. After that: import for file type 101 is not possible.
When I use denoiser (remove weak rumble) I can hear it is going wrong. Now I use Audio Cleaning Lab 4. In Lab 3 I did not have this problem.
Is there a link for the 32 bit version? Will the plugins that came with Audio Cleaning lab (AUDIO PLUGIN UNION - wizardFX Suite) work with a 32 bit version?
I hope that everyone has raised a ticket on this. Magix works by the number of tickets raised on a problem and this is a problem.
To go along with it, has anyone checked the interface with SpectraLayers Elements? The playback marker in the interface does not work with the playback marker in SFACL4. Pressing on play causes the playback marker in spectralayers to jump, then it doesn't move. Can anyone confirm this?
SpectraLayers standalone works fine.
Also, SFACL4 does not work as the External Audio Editor for the video programs Movie Studio/Video Pro X - the wave file does not show up in SFACL4. It does, however, work with Music Maker 2023. Can anyone confirm this?
