I have MAGIX Music Maker 2013 and i was considering to upgrade it to the Premium Version or the 2014 version and i was wondering if i had to repurchase the soundpool license again or does the upgraded versions just comes with a whole new soundpool to use?

Hi,

You do not have to purchase the soundpool licenses again. Once you have the soundpools, you have them and you can use them in newer versions of MMM or Music Studio. The program just has to know where your soundpools are located. I have all of mine in the location where Magix normally puts them: C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools

I also keep other Magix sound and video resources like MxSynth under the Common folder. Check under Program Settings, Folders to see where yours are stored. If you purchase an upgrade, just make sure that the correct folder is in the settings. If your old soundpools do not show up, add them under soundpools by clicking on the Add button and navigating to the folder.

Any soundpools that you purchase or come with MMM and that have to be registered, are registered with Catooh and you can log in to their site to see which licenses that you have. Any soundpools that you have that are not registered at all means that you only gave the private license.

The latest version of MMM is 2014. I recommend the Premium version as you are limited in the regular version and the Premium version has a lot of extras, especially the virtual instruments. Visit the Magix site and look at all of the things that come with the Premium version. The soundpools are listed there. You may want to wait until Magix has a better deal, as they do from time to time. I got mine for 50$ less including Soundpools 18 and 20, plus Music Studio 2.

Enjoy!

Some of the synths and instruments MAY differ between MM2013 and MM2014 so just be sure you get what you want and don't lose anything by "upgrading".  I've always spent the extra bucks and got the premium versions.
