Did a search in the Forum but could not find an answer.  Thank you.  Any help greatly appreciated.  I've been holding off installing the new version till I can find an answer.

Thanks for the answers.  What I want to do is to free up space from the old versions and move everything from the older versions to the newer version.  This includes the addons.  Any recommended way to accomplish this an easy way without messing up the new version install.

Wowtu,

There is no problem installing new versions alongside older ones as each goes into its own folder.

Addons can generally be copied from one version to another -- the directory structure is created (In Win 7 it's usually under 'application data') which might have empty folders or some with only a few examples. I've done so in the past, but there might be issues if the installation process for a fresh download creates registry entries or other flags to let the main program know what is available. Most folders have 'translation.ini' file which list the file names and a matching list of titles that appear in the menus.

Hope this helps, others may have more suggestions.

Regards,

Carl

Hi,

My opinion is to leave both versions on your system at least for a few month in case you need to re-edit something created in a previous version, and it is not recognized or behaves the same way in the new version.

Good Luck
