IS THIS COMPANY STILL IN BUSINESS?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!

For the last three days, I have been trying to re-install my Xara on my new computer but I need to increase my number of activations.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I send support requests to Xara at support@magix.net but I keep getting back an email saying:

Thank you for your mail.

Unfortunately, we can't process your request, since your ticket has already been closed. Please create a new ticket via the support form on our website:

So now I'm accessing them through the support portal but I'm not supposed to leave identifiable info here. So could somebody at support please reach out to me through this forum and let me know how I'm supposed to have my number of activations increased so I can re-install the Xara software? Thank you.

And while I'm on the subject, can I suggest you stop this silly ‘number of activations’ process?

I buy and install/reinstall a lot of software and this really is the dumbest process I have ever encountered. Why should I have to wait 2-3 days to reinstall software that I already own? They already know that I own it and have me connected.  If somebody tries to install multiple copies they can prevent it.  So why create such a silly system on top of the monitoring system you already have in place?

This is typical German over-engineering, just like in your cars.  Please get rid of it.

@Sparky263

Hi

When you purchased the software you get 2 activation slots for installing on 2 computers, you can install the software on as many computers as you wish, however only 2 can be active concurrently.

This is a very common method of preventing piracy, and ensuring the Terms & Conditions of usage are followed.

To activate on another, or new, computer you need to de-activate one of the previous installations, then activate the new installation.

To de-activate an installtion go to your account at magix.com, and login, the Account icon is top right of the home page.

Under My products, you will see Xara Web Designer and under the Show more details link, the 2 activation slots with the computer details that the software is registered on. De-activate one of them, then activate the new install.

. . . . So now I'm accessing them through the support portal but I'm not supposed to leave identifiable info here. . . . .

This is a user to user forum, not a Magix Support portal, provided by Magix,.for users to help each other with issues, how to's etc.
