@hugh-Janice What are you trying to achieve? Do you want to record the audio of your keyboard? Does the cable include an audio interface?

I want to be able to record using my keyboard, it has a TP line out and it works in terms of playing audio through my other audio devices, it just doesn't detect my keyboard

Edit: it has a green flashing light and a bulky USB connector, but I dont think it does, and I cant really afford one either. I have to work with what I got cause I cant just ask my father to get me this $40 piece of equipment rn

@hugh-Janice

Try the following. Go into the program settings by clicking on the gear icon in the top left. Go to the Audio/MIDI tab.

Select ASIO Magix Low Latency as your ASIO driver. Click on the Advanced... button to open the driver settings. I hope your cable is listed here as an input device on the left side in the list. Click on the on/off icon before the entry to enable the cable. Also enable your playback devices you want to use, for example USB headphones.

You can now close the settings windows.

Click on the gear icon next to the record button and check if the Monitoring feature is enabled to hear yourself playing. If you can hear yourself playing through your keyboard's speakers you can disable the Monitoring feature. Close the window.

To enable a track for recording your keyboard's sounds just click on the REC button in the track header until it reads AUDIO REC. Click on record and start playing.

@hugh-Janice Yes, this looks okay, if the USB device is your cable. But the red button in the track header must say "AUDIO REC" instead of "MIDI REC"

Just to confirm, yes it is my keyboard, I checked. but its still not working, I tried to record something and its still not recording :/

Anything else I could try?

@hugh-Janice Is the volume of your keyboard turned up? You could also try using a different output, for example the headphone output of your keyboard instead of the line output.

Does it work with other applications on your computer?

It doesn't work with the headphone jack, and the free MMSE is the only music making app I have, but I could try using it in a game?

@hugh-Janice

You could try a free program like https://www.audacityteam.org/ or https://www.image-line.com/fl-studio-download/ The free FL Studio Demo will also install another ASIO driver called FL Studio ASIO. You can then select this driver in the Music Maker Audio/MIDI tab. Maybe your cable will work when you use this driver. You can also download and install a newer version of the Magix Low Latency Driver from here https://www.asio4all.org/

why did it work when i turned off the ASIO?

@hugh-Janice Maybe the Magix Low Latency Driver is incompatible with your cable. You could still try the other drivers and see if they will work. If you don't use ASIO in Music Maker or other Magix softwares you will not get realtime monitoring inside the software. If you don't need monitoring then everything should be fine.
