I'm importing a WAV file from Audacity into a project in MMM 2013, and it's playing slower than it actually is. Could someone tell me how to fix this?

I've tried changing the tempo of the track, but it doesn't sound right. Thank you to anyone who answers. :)

Hi,

Go to File, Settings, Program settings, Import tab and uncheck automatically adjust samples to BPM. It may be that the file has a BPM embedded and it gets adjusted automatically upon import to the BPM of the project in MMM. Or, it Remix opens when you import the file, close it.

Please let me know if this solves your problem.

Thanks for the answer. I tired the first thing you mentioned, and it didn't work. I don't understand what you mean by "remix", but thanks for your help. :)

Hi,

Remix Agent is a tool that can open automatically to detect or help detect the BPM of an imported file. See page 69 in your manual.

How did you change the tempo?

See page 148. Make sure that you don't also change the pitch.

Thank you for your response. Somehow, the saved WAV file from Audacity had a little too much space at the beginning, so I pushed the object in a little and lined it up. Thanks for your help. I will look intot the Remix tool when I get the chance. :)

Also, make sure the files you are creating with Audacity are set at the same sampling frequency (44.1, 48, etc.) as the files used by MMM. I believe 16-bit, 44.1 kHz is the default for "CD quality" in MMM.

In Audacity look in Edit (menu) > Preferences > Qualiity - Sample Rate

If they are not the same, they will not play back at the same apparent speed.

If your file is recorded/exported at 48kHz and played at 44.1kHz it will sound slower than it should.

if you play a file at 96kHz in a player set for 44.1kHz, you will get a horrendous, ear-shreading noise.
