I'm having trouble burning my project.

When I press the burn icon I get the following message....In order to use the MPEG 2 function a one time activation is required.  Would you like to activate.  I press "online".  Then  I get a message that I have limited user rights.  I am the only user!!!  What do I need to do so that I can successfully burn a project on a DVD?  I'm frustrated and lost as to what to do now.  Someone please help!  I'm using the MOVIE EDIT PRO 2013.

Hi Kim

We need to know more about your computer system - in particular the version of Windows you are using and does the account on your computer have full administrator privileges?

. . . . get a message that I have limited user rights . . .

At what point do you get this message immediately after clicking Online or after MEP has contacted the activation website ie after the spinning bar popup?

Have you registered MEP and created a user account on the Magix site?

I'm a teacher and I'm using the laptop the school gives us so I'm not sure which WINDOWS I'm using but I'm going to guess that I'm using WINDOWS XP.  I also want to note that I registered the computer on my home computer before I loaded it again on my school laptop.  I am preparing a video and using pictures from my class and need to use my school laptop.

I get the message after I select the BURN button.  I can't register, or whatever the pop-up asks me to do, because it says I only have limited rights....I don't get that!

Yes, I have registered my product and have a user account.

I hope you can help me!  I've also inquired for "professional" advice via the website but haven't heard anything yet.

Hi

. . . . I registered the computer on my home computer before I loaded it again on my school laptop. . . . .

I think this may be the problem - you cannot upgrade the second installation on the laptop while it is registered to your PC.

Second installation on a second computer, strictly speaking, is not allowed under the licensing terms. See section 2 here

. . . . I can't register, or whatever the pop-up asks me to do, because it says I only have limited rights....I don't get that! . . .

I suspect your IT department or IT service provider has not given you full Administrator rights on the laptop or have disabled certain Internet access functions on the laptop.

I think you will have to get the school to purchase the software for the laptop and get the IT Dept to install and set it up for you.

Can I uninstall the program on my personal computer and then reinstall the program on my school computer so I can get this program running correctly?  If so how can I do this?  And, thank you for all your help.
