I'm having a problem with Acid 10 Pro - recording device

Strongdad wrote on 4/13/2022, 7:57 PM

I have used Acid for 20 years as a licensed user - but haven't actually used it in last 5 years for recording vocals.

When I go into Options>Preferences>Audio Device - my only option is to use the Microsoft Sound Mapper.

How do I change this to use my HperX NGENUITY Microphone for recording? Thanks in advance...

Does the microphone appear in the list of recording devices within the Windows settings? If you change this setting Acid wont pick up the changes without restarting

@Strongdad

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Which version of Winows is installed on the computer ?

If Windows 10 or 11 check that the Windows settings, Privacy and Security, Microphone, Let desktop apps access your microphone option is turned on.

To answer both questions - I have Windows 10, the HyperX microphone is set to the default microphone in the list of recording devices and has always been there. I use the microphone for podcast, streaming, discord with no issues - it's just Acid 10 Pro that does not recognize anything.
