However, your basic question as to whether your new HD camera is likely to be the cause of the jerky playback, the answer is Yes!

Depends on which way you look at it - for me this is a chicken and egg situation.

The cause of this could be one or more of several things - so come back with your full computer specification and also what other programs you have running at the same time eg anti-vrus and anti-spamware.
