Hi and welcome to the user to user forums.

If you have recorded your video files using XAVC(S), then Movie Edit Pro does not support that file format as far as I understand it. You would need to be using Video Pro X but even then check the specs page to make sure of compatibility. Other ways around the problem would be to first convert the files into a format Movie Edit Pro can handle or record a compatible format straight from the camera.

Sometimes upgrading a camera or using a different codec often means having to upgrade software as well as sometimes computer specs as the files' demands need additional processing power.

Ray.

Hi

. . . . 4K Video with 100p & 4:2:2: 10Bit Colors . . . .

The issue with the video is 4:2:2: 10Bit - this is not supported by Movie Edit Pro (MEP),.

XAVC(S) is a subset of XAVC which MEP imports with no issues when encoded as 4K XAVC AVC 4:2:0 8 bit.

VPX does support 4:2:2: 10Bit encoded video, however do note that VPX 13 has some bugs at the moment, which are being worked on by Magix.

I agree with Rays comment 'Other ways around the problem would be to first convert the files into a format Movie Edit Pro can handle or record a compatible format straight from the camera.

Converting to AVC 4:2:0 8 bit should work, however you do lose some of the dynamic range of the video.

If you were going to shoot a lot of 10bit 422 (I don't have a Sony sample to try), I'd consider in the future, Video Pro X. I shoot 10bit 422 with Panasonic (MOV) and it plays back without any issues in VPX.

Hi

. . . . Pl resolve my problem mentioned above . . . .

You have been given above 2 solutions to the issue with using 4K Video with 100p & 4:2:2: 10Bit Colors:

  1. Either convert to AVC 4:2:0 8 bit - Handbrake is a free video converter and should be able to do this

    or

  2. As @Reyfox has commented consider using Video Pro X which does support to 4K AVC 4:2:2 10 bit video - the Sony and Panasonic formats are identical.

A third solution for future videos is to record 4K AVC 4:2:0 8 bit.

Hi

Movie Studio 2022 is the new name for Movie Edit Pro 2022 - Magix have streamlined the product range.

The solutions previously given above still apply - upgrade to Video Pro X or convert the files.
